Science Fiction books usually feature space or time travel or technological advances in future civilizations. If you find dreaming about what it would be like to live on the Millennium Falcon, there is probably a book for you on this list.

We highly recommend the Enders Game Series by Orson Scott Card from this list. There are six books in this series that can be read in any order or in chronological or publication order. Orson Scott Card does recommend that Xenocide should be read right before Children of the Mind. The story is of an alien race that wants to eliminate mankind. In response Humans pick the smartest human children to train them in Battle School to save mankind.

The Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson are also worth checking out. The seven books in this series chronicle the lives of six fugitive kids that were bred in a place called the School where they endured scientific experiments that left them 98 percent human and 2 percent bird. In the series these fugitive kids need to work together to survive and to work against the school that created them.
