Miranda Cosgrove is one of TVs most popular teen actresses. She is most known for her starring role on the Nickelodeon Channel's sitcom iCarly. She also has singing career and released her first full studio album, Sparks Fly, in April, 2010.

Where did Miranda grow up?

Miranda was born in Los Angeles, California on May 14, 1993. She grew up in Los Angeles and was discovered by a local talent agent at the age of 3. She started out in television commercials and modeling.

Miranda's first big break into acting was at the age of 10, when she landed a role in the movie School of Rock with Jack Black. The movie was a success and Miranda did a great job portraying Summer Hathaway. After that her next major role was as Megan Parker, Drake's scheming younger sister, on the Nickelodeon kids TV show Drake and Josh. The show was successful and ran for four seasons.

When the show Drake and Josh ended, Miranda's career didn't skip a beat. She already had plans for her own Nickelodeon show called iCarly. iCarly quickly became one of the most popular teen shows on TV. On the show Miranda's character, Carly, hosts and produces her own web show where all sorts of funny stuff happens. She has two best friends, Sam and Freddie, who help her with the show and lives with her older brother Spenser. iCarly has had several successful seasons and Miranda's career has continued to blossom.

Can Miranda really sing?

Yes! As a matter of fact she had to get help to purposely sing poorly for her character in School of Rock. She's had singing lessons for years and moving her career into music was a natural step for her. She started out her music career with four songs on the iCarly soundtrack and now has her own studio album, Sparks Fly. She also likes to write songs and play the guitar.
