About the movie:

This movie is based on the popular science fiction kid's book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. In the future North America has been divided up into several districts. Each year the capital city forces the districts to provide a boy and a girl to compete in the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are fought to the death and only one winner can emerge. Katniss Everdeen takes the place of her younger sister in the games. She must use all her skills, cunning, and bravery to try and survive.

Review

This was a great an entertaining movie. It is rated PG-13. We don't often review or have PG-13 movies on our site, but as the Hunger Games is such a popular kids book, we've made an exception. Kids will absolutely need their parent's approval and guidence for this movie. It is fairly violent. That being said, the movie was well made, acted, and filmed. I'm not sure if it wouldn't be confusing for people who haven't read the book, however. I also think they could have done more with effects. For this reason I give it 4 out of 5 Ducks.
