About the movie:

This movie is based on the true story of a family of grey whales that gets trapped in the arctic ice. As winter approaches the ice cap is growing and there is only a short amount of time to rescue them. The story is told by local news reporter Adam Carlson (played by John Krasinski from The Office). His ex-girlfriend and Greenpeace volunteer, Rachel (played by Drew Barrymore), gets involved and tries to save the whales. Rachel and Adam work with world governments and local peoples to try and rescue the whales.

The storyline is based on the 1989 book Freeing the Whales.
