Super Scribblenauts is released by Nintendo for the DS

Nintendo released its follow up game to the very popular Scribblenauts for its DS system. Called Super Scribblenauts, this new game (as you can guess from the name) doesn't stray too far from its predecessor. One of the great new features to this game is the ability to use adjectives to describe or modify objects. Now rather than just adding a dragon into the picture you can decide to add a purple, tiny, exploding dragon. Almost anything you can dream up, the game will allow you to add into the story to solve puzzles.

If you haven't played the game before you are in for a treat. The basic premise of Scribblenauts is amazing. You solve puzzles using words or objects. For example, let's say you need to cross a lake. You write the word boat, and a boat appears for you ride across the lake. But maybe you need to get across quickly so you summon a speed boat. Perhaps there's danger in the lake, so maybe you summon a giant fire cannon, too. The only thing holding you back is your imagination and your vocabulary.

The main character in the game is Maxwell. You help Maxwell pass levels by using words and summoning objects of all sorts to solve puzzles. When a puzzle is solved Maxwell gains a "starite". You collect starites to gane levels.

Kids don't need to know this, but Scribblenauts can also help in expanding your vocabulary and helping you to think out and solve puzzles on your own. Super Scribblenauts solves some of the difficulties with the controls from the original game and adds in more fun with additional vocabulary (10,000 more words!) and possibilities. It's a great game for kids and just maybe you'll learn something too.

Super Scribblenauts can be found at most retailers and is designed for the Nintendo DS game system.
