Sleeping Beauty
Movie and DVD Review

Rating: G

Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty is a classic film from 1958. It is the first fairy tale to be produced by Walt Disney himself.

Sleeping Beauty is the story of a baby princess that is cursed by the evil Malificent that she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die before her 16th birthday. (Malificent was pretty mad that she was not invited to the party celebrating the princess birth!) At any rate Sleeping Beauty is taken away to be raised by three fairy's to protect her. Fate would have it that Sleeping Beauty would meet her handsome prince and he would have to battle Malificent to save her and the kingdom.

"The film is rated G, but in true Disney style the villain, Malificent, can be scary to some of the youngest viewers, although it is very easy to skip the DVD chapters. My 9 year old son also enjoys the comedy and action scenes when the prince is battling Malificent."

I would recommend this movie for family viewing.
