Nanny McPhee
Movie and DVD Review

Rating: PG

I must say that my husband and I enjoyed Nanny McPhee (PG) as much as our children. This is an absolute must see. Nanny McPhee is brilliantly played by Academy Award winner Emma Thompson who also wrote the Nanny McPhee screen play. The screen play was adapted from the 'Nurse Matilda' books

"The story is about the 7 Brown children and their father played by Collin Firth. The children have recently lost their mother and have decided that they would run off every Nanny that their father hires for them. Seventeen nannies later, Mr. Brown has run out of options. That is until Nanny McPhee magically arrives on the scene."

"As Nanny McPhee is working on the children's behavior, Mr. Brown is being pressured by his Aunt to remarry. The plot (although predictable to us parents) continues as the children's behavior improves and Mr. Brown searches for the new Mrs. Brown."

"The PG rating is for crude language and innuendo. In the scene where the seven children are introducing themselves, they use lots of what I would call bathroom language. In another scene, Mr. Brown seems to be lunging and groping a woman to protect her from his children's practical jokes."

I would highly recommend Nanny McPhee for family viewing.
